The Community Housing Resource Center has been serving our community for nearly twenty years through its comprehensive financial and homeownership education and counseling services because we know that building financial stability matters! Families who are financially self-sufficient—or fit–help create a more vital and thriving community. We also address the tough issues of mortgage default, foreclosure and mortgage modifications. If a client seeks mediation, we help them prepare for the process and attend with them.
Being financially fit doesn’t mean rich! It means understanding what resources you have available to provide for you and your family and then knowing how to manage them for your benefit. Families and individuals who struggle with very little resources meet with our counselors to plan their roadmap to financial recovery. Each step they take from knowing their credit report and what that score says about them to settling a debt or making a payment is a milestone that we celebrate. Whether our clients seek homeownership or housing stability or access to better employment or lower interest or insurance rates, as a non-profit, HUD certified housing/financial counseling agency, we are here to help them reach their goals.
Certified financial counselors meet with our clients in classroom settings and one-on-one counseling. We address the issues that no one wants to talk about—mortgage default and foreclosure, poor credit, too much debt, not being able to get credit—the barriers to financial stability and a better life for them and their families.
